I don't have any new pictures to share on here, but found these cute ones of the kids and John. We did the fun little picture collages for John for Father's Day using Picnik.com.
From time to time we go to an archery shoot nearby. Everyone gets a chance to try out their bow, and I take pictures, swat mosquitos and am on constant tick patrol (at least in the summer)! At the last one we went to, they told us to take a left at the fork in the road, hence the fork. We had a discussion with Kenzie on what a fork in the road meant only days earlier, so it was funny that they literally used a fork this time. Kenzie enjoys posing with the local wildlife. John got to shoot his new bow and did really well. The picture of Mason is from Shiloh. We went to look around and came across quite a few deer. Here he is stalking one with the camera. It let him get pretty close before taking off!
John and I have spent many hours on our bikes this summer! These were taken on our ride on the Natchez Trace over the 4th of July. We rode 85 miles that day and were in three different states...and I almost passed out from the heat! Last weekend we camped out in Chattanooga and rode the 3-state 3-mountain course for our anniversary!
Here is a typical summer from the eyes of a very spoiled dog! Scout enjoys week long trips to the lake and watermelon (the only people food he ever eats), but his favorite spot is on the edge of the kitchen floor where he can cool off on the tile and receive lots of love from everyone who passes by!
We always love to try new recipes around here, so tonight I cooked from Food for Fitness. We had gnocchi for dinner, and it was a huge hit! It was fun to make, although I lost my cooking partner pretty early on, because she thought we were having mashed potatoes. Kenzie is not a fan of those, so she quickly went from excited to help with dinner to making herself scarce. It came out at dinner that she had misunderstood the dinner menu. She loved it! Shhh...don't tell her there are mashed potatoes in there!!!
