Math + Oranges =

Silliness!!! Kenzie and I split an orange after lunch today. She came upstairs to ask me a question about a math problem...this led to lots of laughing from both of us!
 

Our Dinner Entertainment

We went to dinner Thursday night with my folks when we got to Jackson. Here is some of the entertainment we enjoyed while eating!

Champions!

Kenzie's team won the championship game this afternoon! They really played some great soccer. It's fun to see them come together and play so well as a team! And, as you can tell, they have fun together too!

Getting Messy!

And here is Kenz getting messy while digging the clay out of the bottle we used for our build a dam project. That girl is sure we can use the clay again for something or she just wanted an excuse to get messy...either way, she had fun!
 

Building a Dam

Today our science lab for Mason was building a dam. We used a bottle, cut out the side, placed modeling clay on the sides to be our river banks and added toothpicks for trees. The first time we filled it up, the water was able to freely run out the neck of the bottle. After draining it, we put the cap on the bottle to represent a dam and refilled the bottle with water to watch what would happen. We also have been studying energy with Kenzie's science and talked yesterday about using water as a renewable resource. I made the connection for the kids that we get to see a real life example of both of these every time we go over the dam at Pickwick!
