Making Progress!

I had my first house showing last night....to a friend of mine from high school. It is exciting/stressful/time consuming, to get a house ready to sell and keeping it neat and spotless all the time, and I have only showed it once now! Thankfully, we are using a realtor and I am hoping that will decrease my stress somewhat. I don't have any pics of the house, but I will try to get one to post. Mostly this weekend we did damage control from the landscaping my sweet Curfew was hard at work on before we removed him from my backyard. I am sure he had great vision, we just did not see eye to eye! My mom, dad and Matthew came in town Saturday to help work in the yard with John and the kids and yours truly. We got some work did! My dad says I will not make anything on the house after I get the bill for their services! He's so funny, that said, they were such awesome help, I would pay them!

So, if you know anyone in my area that wants a cute 2 bedroom, 2 bath house...send them my direction!

New Kicks!

Well, this week has been super busy, between painting, fencing (not the kind with the fancy white suits, more so the kind that involves mud, concrete and posts), work and school.

Painting...we're 85% there
Putting up a fence at John's...??? We have all the posts up...too bad the dogs won't just stay between them!
Working in my back yard...waiting for the transfer of cinnamon and black ignunce!

So, the weekend was full of paint and mud. I enjoyed it all, mostly because it was a nice break from the books!!! Working outside in the dirt to help John put the posts up was actually quite fun too! I did some shoveling and ended up with concrete dust all over my face. A little dirt doesn't bother me!

The goal this week is to finish painting and putting up the fence so that we can begin to work in my back yard...WOOHOO! And, my reward for all this hard work was a pair of new running shoes which I bought myself today. I know what some of you are thinking..."that's a reward?"...but running is enjoyable to me and my stress reliever in the midst of all the craziness!!!

Nerf Gun Fun!

Here are the future crime fighters of America all decked out in their nerf gear! Mais and Kenz went to stay with some friends Sunday night and came back with a new toy! Needless to say, there was much entertainment in the house Monday night, and will be fun for nights to come. What you can't see in this pic... Kenzie's t-shirt says "I need my space." John found that at the Kennedy Space Center. Look out for these two!

Spring Break Is Over...

This picture was taken on the first of many Utah trips with my good friends Curt, Hannah, Matt, Jason and my bro Stevo. For those who know me well, you know that snow skiing is one of my favorite things to do, and I must say, over the past year, I have really missed it. Some of the group went back to Utah this past week, but because there were many things I needed to be doing here, I stayed behind. I sure missed getting to hit the slopes with my favorite ski buddies! From the sounds of it, they had a great time and remained injury free!

Though I still had to work last week, not having to go to class was very nice!!! I stayed in Memphis over spring break, spent time with John and the kids and did a few things around the house to get it "For Sale" ready. It is amazing how much stuff I can accumulate living in the same place for only 3 years! Aside from going through my things and cleaning out the house, there a very few things that need to be done to the house. Today a lady came over to the house to remove the wallpaper in my bathroom (loved her!)...I was amazed at how quickly she removed it and how much bigger the room looks now! Now all we have to do inside is paint...bring on the mess!!!

My Daddy!

Well, March is birthday month in our family! Today is my Dad's birthday. I just called him and he was on his way home from the hospital from a night of being oncall...that usually means he has the day off. I'm hoping that is the case today! My Dad is the best dad a girl could hope for. He is the greatest example I have on this earth of my heavenly Father and His love for me. My Dad can be fun and silly/goofy, yet strong and serious and wise. He is a hard worker and has taught us, his children, to work hard as unto the Lord. Everyone who meets my dad loves him...all of his patients talk about how great he is and the drug reps who call on him speak highly of him too. He is one of the first people I turn to when I need advice and a listening ear and also when I have exciting news to share.

My dad loves his family and he loves us so well because he first loves the Lord! Throughout my life, I have never doubted that he loves me and he always lets me know he's proud of me! I love you Daddy!

My Big Bro...

Today, one of my very best friends in the whole world is celebrating a birthday! I just wanted to say happy birthday to my big bro, Stephen!!!

He is one of the most caring, thoughful, and wise people I know. As long as I can remember, he has been constant and steady and faithful in his walk with the Lord. He is a huge encouragement to me and I am SO thankful for the blessing he is in my life and in the lives of so many others!

The first two pictures were taken on an Augusta trip a couple summers ago. One of Stephen's favorite things to do is go to the lake!

This is Stephen and our good friend Matt being their normal silly selves! They is SO crazy! We had a ton of fun hanging out with Stephen in his town, spending an awesome day at the lake and visiting his church! Oh yeah, and traveling through Moody on the way there!

When we went skiing at Deer Valley, Utah a couple years back, Stephen discovered a new type of bikini...the snowkini! He loves to ski, water or snow...he is there!
Here Stephen is getting practice on one of his first eye patients in the lodge at the top of the mountain in Park City, Utah. He's a great doctor!
This picture was taken in Nashville at the marathon last April. Stephen and Cecilia ran the half marathon together and then many hours later, Stevo came out to cheer me across the finish line. Super fun times!
I'm sure it's hard to tell where this pic was taken. My big bro got married this past November. Stephen's wife, Cecilia, is throwing him a party tonight in Augusta...I wish I could be there! I'm looking forward to them moving and hopefully getting to see them more often!!!

Spring Break...

I just finished taking 2 tests to wrap up the week and this last one was a TON of info! We covered the lymphatic, respiratory and digestive system all in one, hour long test. While sitting though lectures on these systems, I was reminded of being in Jacksonville the summer before Stephen would start med school. We were sitting in the car and my dad was quizing us on medical terms of ways that food leaves your body...quite disturbing, but one of the things you think is normal when you grow up in a family of Docs.

The nice thing about having a test right before spring break is that I do not have anything hanging over my head for class. What I need to do over the break is work around my house...i.e. paint! Of course, there isn't much to paint, I just need to get it started. Maybe I will call Hannah for inspiration!
