Wedding Plans...

Well, people have been saying that the wedding date comes up on you sooner than you think. I will admit that time is flying, but it still feels like July 15 is a long way off. This past weekend John and I had our engagement pictures taken...that was actually fun! The weather was beautiful and the photographer is very nice. He even let us be our silly selves and take some fun pics!!!

We also met with the cake lady, Susie! And of course, there was cake to be tasted...YUM! I did not really have any idea what I wanted in a cake, but I did know I wanted it to taste good!!! Well, I think it will for sure be good...and if it looks pretty, then that's just bonus. She showed us some pictures of cakes she has done...one of them (which she said herself was very tacky) was a turkey. I tried to get John to have her make his a deer head, but he wasn't following my vision!

I'm wrapping up school for the semester with no more class and just a final left!!!!! YIPPEE!!! Hope all is well with you!

Last Lab!!!

Last night I had my last lab for the semester...turned in a paper and took my exam and was home by 7:40. I am so looking forward to have some free time after my class is over this semester! Anyone else in need of a vacation? From reading Jason's blog, I know he is.

If you had 2 extra weeks off this year, where would you spend them?

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was very nice! John and the kids and I went to visit my parents. On Sunday, we had breakfast and an easter egg hunt. We then got all dressed up (you know, dressier than the jeans we're used to) and went to church and to lunch with my parents and Granny D Be Bumpin. Sadly, we forgot to take a picture of us all with our pretty on.

My dad took John and the boys to the driving range and putting green after lunch. Justus seemed to enjoy that, and Maison is definitely hooked. He told John that he wants to go to the driving range every Sunday now! Maison asked me if I was a good golfer, and I told him I was ok, but I didn't play enough to be really good...he then replied, "well, I was really good and it was my first time!"

Kenz and I left the golfing to the boys and played by the pool! The weather, friends, fellowship and celebration of hope were all a great reminder of all that we've been given!

For Sale!!!

My house is officially on the market!!! Sign in the yard as of Monday and listed online (including some fun pics) as of this morning! It was very strange to see it listed and to see the sign in my front yard. Now I just hope it sells fast!

Some days I feel like it would be easier to just live somewhere else and leave the house in perfect condition, instead of having to reopen the blinds and clean up after myself each morning when I leave.

Two postings in one day...it won't happen very often! Just wanted to give you all the fun news!

Bike "Fitting"

Time for the bike "fitting." John actually made some slight adjustments to my fit as I was not able to clip out of my pedals! It made for some entertaining "stops" along our first ride this past Friday night...picture something like this...

Me stopping, trying multiple times to clip out and then as I slowly begin to fall sideways (still clipped in to my bike and in the seated biking position), saying "John, I'm still cliiiiiipppppeeeddd iiiiiiiiiiinnnnn." Hehehe! That only happened twice and then we decided to inspect the pedals. We ventured out again Saturday morning, this time, no falls!!!

Zoom...Zoom!

I got my new bike on Monday night!!! We took it out for a small test ride and I cannot wait to ride it this weekend! The people at the bike store picked on me a little because I was so set on getting a RED bike...what can I say, I thought it was pretty! Like they say at Fleet Feet, never pick shoes based on the look, I think the same goes for bikes, so we just narrowed down our search to red bikes that would fit me. Though running is still my first love, I am looking forward to giving my knees a little break and to the change of pace and and watching the scenery fly by instead of creep along! Any fun ideas for a name for my new red ride???

Weekend Get Away!

Destination...Columbus, MS. This weekend, I managed to escape the craziness of working on my house and went on a small road trip with my three best friends from high school! We went to the booming metropolis of Columbus, MS. Mimi's parents moved their after we graduated from high school and have a very Seaside-ish house on the water there! It was a fun, relaxing way to spend the weekend, catching up with friends, shopping (MJ, there was an Ann Taylor/Loft discount store...you would have LOVED it) and enjoying the weather. Here are a few pics from the weekend.
Starting on the left, this is Brooke, me, Whitney and Mimi.
Mimi with her little boy Wilson. He is such a cutie! Wilson is very into Bob the Builder and Toy Story, "To Infinity and Beyond." We bonded over tiger noises and book reading!

This is Annie, she is adorable and is showing off her leg strength here! She is all smiles and enjoyed hanging out and shopping with the girls for the weekend!

Welcome to the Red Fish Inn, our resort of choice for the weekend! Mimi's parents had a cute little spot for Whitney, Brooke and I to stay! All in all, it was a great trip, and as always, fun to catch up with three of my favorite people!!!
