While John cleaned out the garage, Mason sat and played his guitar and Kenzie rode around on her scooter. The kids were enjoying the morning out on the driveway in their PJs! I was able to get a little cleaning and painting in too! Since these pictures were taken, the kids have had a water fight and gone swimming next door. Hope you enjoy your Memorial Day!

School Books have Arrived
Earlier this month I began ordering school books for our next school year. In the mix, I added books to encourage creativity and artistic growth. As they come in the mail, it is like Christmas for me. You would think someone had given me the greatest gift with the excitement I express with each new book! I guess in some regards this is true, as God has given me the awesome gift and responsibility of educating our two youngest. One of my favorite books we have gotten is Drawing with Children. As I read through it, I am getting more and more excited about it! John and I will probably do the exercises at some point too, since both of us have an interest in drawing. The author also ties art to the teaching of other subjects, which is something I am interested in exploring!

Chemistry Class Party!
Mason, Kenzie and I went to their end of class party yesterday out at our wonderful teacher's house. They got to play, ride bikes, go carts and horses. It was a very fun adventure for all of us!

Mason and the Basketball Bite
Here's a picture of Mason's hand with the red line drawn to show the extent of infection. While out playing basketball with some neighborhood boys yesterday, another kid's teeth landed in his hand. He came inside, washed it, taped it and went right back out to play some more. This morning he woke up in pain, so John took him our pediatrician (she is wonderful!) and she drained the wound and gave him two huge shots in the legs. He is experiencing some soreness in his legs from the shots and having a hard time walking. He said "the shots were supposed to lessen the pain, not enhance it!" I'm so proud of how tough he is! Hopefully with the draining, shots and a round of antibiotics he will recover quickly! Poor Mas!

Orchid Viewing!
While at my parents' house this weekend, we had the opportunity to go visit their neighbor and her greenhouse. Kenzie, John, my mom and I all went for the tour. She had tons of orchids! It was amazing! Hope you enjoy the pretty pictures John took with his phone. We potted 4 keikis and are hopeful that we will have 4 new thriving orchid plants in the future!
