My friend Whitney tagged me in the random fact game. So, here are seven random facts about me...
1. I do not like change, really just when it comes to people. When people leave my life, through job change or a move it is very hard for me...even if they are just moving down the road...Matthew!
2. I hate laundry!!! I will put off washing clothes for weeks...and search through my closet desperately for clean clothes to avoid the dreaded laundry day. The only problem is there are three other people in the house who depend on me to wash and fold their laundry...how did this happen!?! (there is a huge pile of laundry taking up the entire bed in our guest room right now...and I'm blogging instead...can we say denial!)
3. Running is my weight reducer and stress reliever. I cannot think straight if I have not hit the pavement for at least 30 minutes and I do not like the way I feel when I am not running on a regular basis.
4. I have a hard time spending money on myself. Don't get me wrong, I love to get things. I used to go to Target and pick things out that I liked, put them in my basket and over the course of the next thirty minutes, slowly put every single item back. When I go shop, I usually get something for everyone else. John has to encourage me to buy stuff for myself. Really, I do not like to shop! It gives me a headache.
5. We haven't had to pay for hardly any of the furniture or decor in our house. Between both my grandmothers and my mom, we pretty much have acquired a full house of stuff and I would venture to guess that we have actually purchased about 1% of it.
6. I do not like trying new things. I like to learn new things, I just do not like to try them by myself...you might be thinking one cannot happen without the other. You would be right! It is the initial fear of failure that usually produces anxiety, and hence my fear of trying something new all by myself! If someone is with me, the fear never comes into the picture.
7. I'm a neat freak. I want everything in its place all the time! God has a huge sense of humor though and placed me in a house with a husband and kids, so I've had to grow in this area quite a bit over the last two years! You may be wondering how this goes along with the huge pile of laundry. I just close the guest room door so I do not have to look at the huge pile of laundry (right now my back is to the laundry), because I hate laundry more than disorder!
So here are the rules:
*Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
*Tell seven random facts about yourself on your blog
* Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
*Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog
I'm going to be breaking the rules slightly...shocker! Most of the friends I know who have blogs have already done something similar to this, so my tag list is sadly going to be nonexistent! If, however, you read my blog and have not done this before, please feel free to do so!

Annual Pumpkin Carving Party
It should probably be called the Annual Peanut Butter Ball Party, because that and fun with friends are the true reasons for the party each year! Some only come for the Peanut Butter Balls, but I'm ok with that. This proved to be a hit yet again. I'll try to post some pictures of all of our pumpkins later! Here you can see Mason and Kenzie hard at work on theirs.

Fun Weekend!
We had a fun weekend hanging out with my parentals and Stephen, Cecilia and Emi. Emi is just too cute!!! I love my little niece! The weekend started with a very fun dinner at Stephen and Cecilia's where the kids watched TV while we all caught up on life. Kenzie came wandering out to the porch and said "are we ever going to leave, it's like 10:06 or something!?!" We arrived home from dinner to find my folks getting ready for bed...but they came out and visited with us for a while, keeping us all up past our bedtimes. Saturday began with a walk around the neighborhood. The boys went golfing and Mom, Kenz and I shopped, and met with our wedding photographer. Yes, we have been married for almost 2.5 years, and still do not have our wedding album! Well, that meeting started at 2 and we thought it would last an hour tops...we left there just in time to rush to the house and make dinner. Three hours of staring at picture layouts I tell ya, that was THE longest meeting, but we left there feeling very accomplished. Sunday we went to church and out to lunch at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, Don Panchos. We had fun trying on costumes in Gracie's attic where we found Kenzie a Halloween costume. We had a fun dinner with everyone at Gracie and Doc's house Sunday night. Sadly, we had to come home early this morning because John had several meetings for work. And the highlight of my day today was getting to have lunch with one of my favorite people in the whole world, Brooke! And now it is time for bed! Hope you had a great weekend too!

What Is That Noise?!?
This morning as Kenzie and I were just settling in to school, we began to hear a noise. It sounded much like a small dog yapping just outside the window in the back yard. Kenzie and I discussed what it could be very briefly. My curiosity finally got the best of me and as I walked out toward the front door of our house, I must have startled the yapping animal. The next thing I knew, I heard the rapid fluttering of wings as the bird dive bombed me (flashbacks from my childhood of being chased by a bird around a friends bedroom)...thus began the screaming! For some reason, that didn't seem to really help the situation. Before I could figure out where it was, it was in the air again. It flew into the kitchen, where I proceeded to keep a safe distance in the hallway. John was kind enough to come down stairs, where he calmly opened the kitchen window to let that birdie free. I'm pretty sure if Kenzie and I had been here by ourselves, there would have been lots more screaming and bird poop in our house!!! Thank goodness John is working at home!

Nemo Marlin Felkins is Dead...
For those of you who have seen our one and only surviving family fish, he is no more. Yesterday John was trying to feed him and for the first time in his short life, he did not fly to the surface and nibble on John's hand. He just stayed near the bottom of the tank acting mopey. He was good at sulking when we first got him a year ago, but had snapped out of it after about two weeks and enjoyed swimming all over the tank. We have had trouble keeping any other fish alive, so, my brother nicknamed him Killer, implying that Nemo somehow killed our other fish. If you saw him you would laugh because he was so tiny in comparison to all the other fish friends we bought for him. I think he was so saddened by this nickname and knew he could not overcome it, and that is what killed him.
On another note tank note, we found out yesterday that for whatever reason, many long fish like two we've had make an effort to jump out of the tank...like ours did! We named Matthew's fish Sandairy (poor fish), because right after we put him in the tank, he came flying out onto the carpet, which is the only thing that saved him. Our other fish flew out onto tile and probably met his end quickly. At least now we know that is just in their nature! So there you have an update on aquarium life at the Felkins!
Salt water aquariums (ours is technically a reef tank) and fish are very cool, but in my experience, goldfish last much longer! That is unless you have a brother like I did who thought the fish were cold and dumped hot water in to warm them up, or thought the fish looked dry and poured in Oil of Olay for it's dry scaliness!
