Calling All Creative People...

Currently, I am feeling the need to do more with the kids as far as school goes. We are covering all the core subjects and, as you may have seen if you watched Daisy Digestion, we have fun science projects from time to time. That said, I am taking suggestions for fun new projects, experiments and adventures. Do you have any fun ideas? If so, please share them with us in the comment section!

One GREAT project I did with my 6th graders in Social Studies was a "Plan a Trip" project! For my "enriched class" they had to plan a European Trip. They basically were given a budget for the trip and had to plan everything from where they would visit, airfare, hotel, food, site-seeing, ect for while they were there! They had to make a weekly/daily itinerary and they had to journal about what they did each day and the places they visited. It was all collected in a folder divided into sections based on their "trip". They also had to create passports and plane tickets for themselves. They LOVED it! It taught them so much about European countries, research using the internet and library, budgeting, planning a trip, being creative, ect. At the end of the project for extra credit they had to find a recipe from one of the countries they visited and make it and bring it into class or create their own souvenir!

OK - So now I am obsessed with finding fun crafts....I know that your kids are probably a little old for eric carle books but there might be something here that you can use....http://www.eric-carle.com/catexchange.html

I think that there is a craft for every book - Just a thought!
